Pride of America
Norwegian Cruise Line purchased the unfinished Pride of America from the bankrupt American Classic Voyages company and completed construction in Germany, with the ship entering service in 2005. It was the first new U.S. flagged, U.S.-built deep water passenger ship in nearly fifty years and operates itineraries in the Hawaiian Islands under NCL America.
Pride of America measures 281 metres in length with a beam of 37 metres and a gross tonnage of 80,439. She carries up to 2,252 passengers on a lower berth basis, served by a crew of 830, across 14 decks and 1,109 cabins. The ship operates at a service speed of 22 knots.
