Ocean Adventurer

Originally built in the former Yugoslavia as Alla Tarasova, this ice-capable expedition ship has operated commercial voyages to polar regions under multiple names and operators. The vessel gained notoriety when it ran aground on a rock in Nunavut's Coronation Gulf, resulting in the stranding of 128 passengers and 69 crew members who were subsequently rescued by the Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker Amundsen. After years of service with Quark Expeditions sailing to Antarctica, the ship transitioned to Terra Nova Expeditions in 2025.
