Silver Cloud
Silver Cloud is Silversea Cruises' first ship, designed with 75% of staterooms featuring verandahs, an innovation uncommon in the cruise industry at the time. Built with its hull constructed at Cantiere Navale Visentini near Venice and completed at T. Mariotti, the ship was christened by Prince Albert of Monaco and named after the wife of one of Silversea's co-founders. The vessel served as home to both the United States men's and women's national basketball teams during the 2016 Summer Olympics and underwent a comprehensive rebuild to enable operation on expedition cruises in polar regions.
Silver Cloud has a gross tonnage of 16,927 and accommodates up to 252 passengers in 126 cabins across 9 decks. The ship carries a crew of 217 and operates at a service speed of 18 knots.
