AIDAnova
AIDAnova is the first ship of the Helios-class and the first cruise ship capable of operating entirely on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The ship became the first cruise ship to receive the Blue Angel environmental certification for eco-friendly ship design. AIDAnova was equipped with fuel cells by AIDA Cruises, and work began to install shore power connection capability at its homeport.
AIDAnova carries up to 5,400 passengers on a lower berth basis and is supported by a crew of 1,500. She has 20 decks and 2,600 cabins in total. Her propulsion is provided by MAK-Caterpillar engines, and she operates at a service speed of 23 knots.
