AIDAstella

AIDAstella is the final vessel of the modified Sphinx-class built at Meyer Werft in Papenburg and operates for AIDA Cruises, a brand specifically oriented toward the German market. The ship was presented as particularly environmentally friendly, featuring a ballast water treatment system to prevent organisms from entering foreign ecosystems and being the first AIDA vessel equipped from the shipyard for shore power connection. AIDAstella was also notable as the last newbuild of its ship class before the Hyperion-class was introduced.
