Costa Cruises is Italy's largest cruise line, founded in Genoa in 1854 and today a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation. The line is known for its Italian-inspired onboard atmosphere, cuisine, and design. Costa operates primarily in Europe, the Mediterranean, and Asia, and was a pioneer of cruising in China. The fleet is currently contracting as Carnival Corporation repositions Costa assets to other brands. Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana, the line's flagship vessels, are LNG-powered and among the most environmentally advanced ships at sea.
