Star Breeze

Star Breeze, originally built as Seabourn Spirit by a German shipyard, gained international attention when it was attacked by Somali pirates armed with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades off the coast of Somalia. Security personnel aboard the vessel, including master-at-arms Som Bahadur Gurung, successfully repelled the attackers using an acoustic device and were later honored by Queen Elizabeth II for their bravery. The ship was transferred to Windstar Cruises and underwent a major stretch in 2019, during which a new 84-foot section was inserted to increase passenger capacity.
