Star Pride
Built by Schichau-Seebeckwerft as the first of the Pride-Class ships, Star Pride was originally intended to launch as Signet Pride but was renamed Seabourn Pride after trademark objections from Signet Oil. When debuting for Seabourn Cruise Line, the ship featured innovative amenities including a top-deck observation lounge for night sky viewing and a Nautilus Room in the hull for underwater marine life viewing, along with an aft stern door bay that provided access to water sports and a marina platform. After a pirate attack on sister ship Seabourn Spirit off Somalia, Star Pride was equipped with a Long Range Acoustic Device as a non-lethal defense measure. The ship transferred to Windstar Cruises in May 2014 under her new name, Star Pride, and was rechristened by Nancy Anschutz.
