MS Nordlys

MS Nordlys is a Norwegian-registered Hurtigruten coastal ship that has operated on the Bergen–Kirkenes route since 1994, serving as the second vessel to bear this name. Built at Volkswerft in Stralsund, Germany, the ship was selected after a competitive international design process and features an innovative cabin layout with 212 of its 230 cabins positioned on the exterior. The vessel is a sister ship to Kong Harald and Richard With in the Kong Harald class and has remained in continuous Hurtigruten service since its maiden voyage, though it has experienced multiple incidents including groundings, collisions, and fires.
